Turkish coffee or Ibrik and coffee maker

coffee

Turkish coffee or Ibrik and the coffee maker are your first thoughts in the morning when you are still in bed and it is a cold, snowy morning outside. You are slowly awakened by the familiar alluring and intoxicating smell of coffee. You stretch once or twice, someone made coffee for you too. How nice and attentive. Darling brings you coffee in bed, but sometimes your mom didn't do that. Or if you got sick. Oh, how nice it was.

There is also a coffee maker on the stove and some coffee in it, and a cup of stunning specialty real coffee on the table, which was carefully and lovingly and with a lot of knowledge roasted in a home roastery. It is good that they discovered it, because since then they have been enjoying Turkish coffee every morning, also called lbrik for connoisseurs.

While drinking the same Turkish coffee as in your favorite coffee shop in town, why are you not as delicious as the one made by Marina or Klemen, a professional coffee roaster and barista?

Turkish coffee: how to conjure up a top-quality cup of coffee at home with simple tricks?

No worries, even at home you can conjure up a top-quality cup of your favorite coffee with a few simple tricks. Marina and Klemen will come to your aid with their knowledge and experience, because we created and invented how to make it so that the palates sing with joy and pleasure after the taste of fruit and nuts in your Turkish coffee. Your job is just to choose Mariposa coffee to your taste, suitably ground for your method of making coffee, or grind it at home on your own grinder.

He confides in you the secret of the two most common ways of home-made coffee, which are ibrik or, in the local language, Turkish coffee and coffee makers.

How to choose the right Turkish coffee or coffee for a coffee maker?

To prepare coffee, it is first necessary to choose the most suitable coffee for a particular method of coffee brewing. Some coffees offer a creamy and chocolate flavor profile, while other coffees offer more fruit flavor.

Some coffees are more suitable for espresso, others for a coffee maker and a third for Turkish coffee. Again, other types of coffee are more for the filter method of preparation, but it depends on you how you like it, because you can also use coffee in a special way of your own. This is actually also the meaning of enjoying coffee.

How should coffee be ground?

Another important thing in making any coffee is of course coffee grinding, which affects its aroma. It is ideal to grind coffee just before preparation, as this is the only way to give the coffee a chance to really show its flavors. This is the same as with herbs, if you crush them before you put them in a dish, they will have the strongest and most pleasant smell and taste. Pre-ground coffee quickly loses its aroma. The same is true for all other ground plant grains. That is why it is most important to always have freshly roasted and freshly ground coffee on hand.

Proper preparation of coffee water

Given that water represents 98 % of coffee extraction, it is also important what kind of water we have. Ideal water means that it is neither too hard nor too soft, so it has just the right amount of positive particles. If you always want good coffee, we recommend using filtered water.

Another important thing about water is its temperature, which also affects the taste of coffee. It should be ideal between 87 C ° and a maximum of 95 C °.

Turkish coffee or lbrik

There is no wrong way to make Turkish coffee or lbrik, as we can tell you from our own experience that each individual has their own way, it suits me best, so we will describe in more detail the most common way of making Turkish coffee in the right way.

Turkish coffee: a recipe for making Turkish coffee or lbrik

For making Turkish coffee but lbrik you need the following ingredients:

  • 15 g finely ground coffee
  • 150 ml of water
  • coffee pot

Fill the coffee pot with water and place it on a hot plate. It is important to avoid strong fires, otherwise the water boils too quickly.

Just before the water boils, set the pot aside and add the coffee and mix well to form a foamy layer on the surface. We then place the cezve back on the hot plate for a few seconds. As the coffee rises towards the edge of the pot, carefully set it aside and serve.

You can sweeten Turkish coffee or lbrik, add any milk or cream and enjoy its taste.

Coffee maker

The question that baristas often face is what is the trick in making coffee in a coffee shop, as it is rarely ideal. The trick is to be careful when grinding coffee, as each method of making coffee has its own thickness of grinding.

Recipe for making coffee in a coffee shop

You need the following ingredients to make coffee:

  • Medium finely ground coffee
  • coffee maker
  • water

Heat the water in a pot or heater and make coffee and a coffee maker.

Fill the coffee grinder sieve with freshly ground coffee to the brim without squeezing the coffee. Pour hot water that you have previously heated into the bottom of the coffee maker, just up to the safety valve. Why is this important? This will shorten the preparation process and make the coffee taste richer.

Carefully insert the sieve into the bottom of the coffee maker and place everything on the hot plate. When you hear the bubbling, remove the coffee maker and immediately pour the coffee into the cup.

Be sure to rinse the coffee maker as soon as possible after cooking so that the coffee residue does not dry out, so the coffee will always be delicious without unwanted aftertaste.
